What exactly is the healthiest way to lose weight? I assume it is to eat right and be active on a weekly workout routine, but how do I know what is the best stuff to eat when I want to lose weight? Better yet, I am starting to tone my abs and thighs, and I would like to know the best way to do that, and what kind of diet to start on. Do you have any tips?
I know that most people think of toning abs with crunches but there are so many different ways that don’t involve lying on the ground. My favorite is kickboxing. Not only is it a great cardio workout but it really tones your abs. Another fun thing I have tried is bellydancing. As far as losing weight, I think that the healthiest way to lose weight is to make little changes in your lifestyle everyday. Before you know it you are eating very healthy, being active, and more energized, all without feeling overly deprived. Little changes are easy to stick with but they add up in the long run.
I think the healthiest way to lose weight is small, frequent, really healthy meals and LOTS of exercise (both cardio and weight training) and LOTS of water. It seems to work the best for me.
As far as abs go, I have just started doing crunches and all sort of fun exercises for abs with a big exercise ball. And when I am at the gym, I like to throw some Roman chair sit ups into my abs routine. The nice thing about abdominal muscles is that I have always heard you can work them every day, unlike most muscles which require a day of rest in between workouts.
My favorite diet is the Mediterranean diet. Lots of fruits and veggies, lean meats, nuts, and some low fat cheese. It is a well balanced diet that fuels the body and is supposed to be the best to lose stubborn fat. I like it because it doesn’t make me feel like I’m starving myself. I get my sugar from the fruit- a natural source which is best, and my fat from the nuts and fish, which are omega 3s- the essential fatty nutrients that help to burn the bad fat. Lots of fiber is important too. I like to make sure I get at least 4 grams of fiber each and every meal or snack. It helps to keep you full and helps in the digestion process.
